Chaneling and manipulating the body's natural energy, every human inhabiting this planet is granted special abilities. Like veins, soul circuits run through the body, each with a unique pattern like figure prints. These can be classified into 12 types, each person is given a ranking from 1-10 based on their soul’s raw power which can estimate their potential. This ranking dictates every part of a person’s life. Where they can live, where they have access to go, and how they are treated.

She quickly climbs in status and notoriety beyond her rank in this classist society as she is brought onto more and more “experimental” projects. When Bayo discovers the crown is illegally harvesting energy from the earth’s core, it causes the empress to place a target on her back. She takes the research and fleas.
